In the last chapter we have seen some of the ways in which consonants clusters are written. In this chapter we are going to see more ways, particularly consonants clusters in which letter ર appers.

1.2) Let us understand how these consonanat clusters are formed.

ત + ર = ત્ર	ગ + ર = ગ્ર
પ + ર = પ્ર	મ + ર = મ્ર
ક + ર = ક્ર	બ + ર = બ્ર
વ + ર = વ્ર	ભ + ર = ભ્ર
ફ + ર = ફ્ર	દ + ર = દ્ર

With some cosonansts, particulary with જ, ટ, ડ, the ર is written under the letter as ^. See –

There are very few such consonanat clusters are found. Many words borrowed from Sanskrit and English require these clusters which are not found in Gujarati. In all above examples the ર consonants comes after other consonant. If the ર precedes other consonants it is written above that consonant. Listen next lesson.
